I want to ask you (in your experience) what are the best practices you have tried in order to keep your computer i good shape?
Why Is it common among computer
users: after a few months, our computers become weighed down by programs and
all sorts of other junk, and inevitably become sluggish. For the less
tech-savvy users, this may induce thoughts like “Why is my computer so
terrible?” or “I guess I could always upgrade this… while some blame it on ‘the
RAM thing’.
No doubt regular maintenance is usually required to keep a computer optimized and running at its best.
I went through this period, when my computer never seem to please me but itself, i tried utilities after another and concludes the best four below, personally as of present, i recommend TuneUp Utilities, but if you can't get to TuneUp Utilities which seeems to be a combination of all four.
Here are four
programs that will make your computer faster.

MSConfig
For those who despair endlessly that their computer lags too much at start up yet don’t know how to go about fixing that, take a look your problems through MSConfig. Msconfig can be accessed by hitting Windows-R, which brings up the “Run” dialog, and typing in “msconfig”. Under the “Start Up” tab, there is a list of programs and executables that are launched when the computer starts up.
Having a lot of programs that start up when the computer boots is one of the main reasons that boot times are so long, for most PC users. Thus, the remedy would be to go through the entire list and uncheck anything that is unnecessary to have on boot up. If there are any entries you are not sure about, be sure to check them thoroughly on the internet before messing with them, as unchecking the wrong entries could potentially mess up the functionality of some of your programs. It has happened to me, trust me you don’t want to mess wiyh things you don’t know especially on you computer.

CCleaner
CCleaner
stands for Crap Cleaner and that is just what it does
on your computer. With time temporary files fill up the system and occupy
spaces usable for better stuffs than crabs. Deleting this temp files will be
deemed a good practice in Pc maintenance.
It’s simple to use, if you have it
installed already. Navigate to the Cleaner tab in CCleaner, check for all you
want to clean (recommendation: leave the advance section alone unless you know what
you are doing) , then clean Analyze. CCleaner
shows you an over view of how much space will be freed from deleting (cleaning
up) the crab it found in your system. To erase these temp files off your
computer, just click “Run Cleaner”
Temp files are not the only junk all
computer users suffer from, broken registry keys also contribute. Thanks to
CCleaner your registry can be kept clean too. To do this, use the “Registry tab”
in CCleaner. Select all entries you wish to prune, and let CCleaner do its job.
The alarming factor here is if you delete a key still used by your computer,
your computer becomes strange in actions so always agree to backing up your registry
before you clean. CCleaner will always ask.
Defraggler
So having cleared all the unnecessary
files from your computer, lots of empty holes exists. Your instinct should say,
“that’s a good thing” but its not, having
random gaps of empty spaces slow your system down, and this is not what we
want.
Defraggler is one of the best free
defragmentation tools on the market. The visual representation of the spaces on
your computer as files are reunited is enlightening, most people do not realize
the extent file splintering effect their system
Revo
Uninstaller
Similar to the Add and Remove
program option in the control panel of your computer, Revo Uninstaller does
more than it by scanning for files the default uninstaller didn’t catch because
of the similarity with the Add and Remove control panel Revo is easy to use.
